Upland Bird Hunting

The collar bell stops ringing, dogs on point! You ready yourself as a covey of Quail bursts at your feet. You pick out the closest bird and place a perfect shot, but wait another bird heads toward the field edge and there’s your first double of the day. The smell of spent shells and honeysuckle remind you that this is bird hunting at its best.

We offer guided hunts for Pheasant, Quail and Chuckar Partridge. The terrain at Lily Pond Creek is a mixture of field edges with Broom Straw Grass, Wild Grape thickets, forest cut-over’s and Piney woods. These plantations have been cultivated for over a century and you’ll feel like you’ve just stepped back in time.

Our well trained dogs are expertly handled by our guides. You can bring your own dogs if they are well trained and you will need to let us know ahead of time to help us make sure your “hunting buddy” is also well cared for. We have kennels on site.

We also offer a Pheasant Tower Shoot. This is fast action wing shooting as the bird’s race overhead. Since the preserve hunting season coincides with our deer hunts, we can schedule a mid-day tower shoot for your group. Talk about a fun filled day!

With Historic Plantations, expertly handled dogs, fast flying birds you’ll quickly be adding our upland bird hunts as an annual tradition.
