Carolina Ranch is located in Hyde County, NC and has been recognized by wildlife professionals and avid hunters as one of the best areas in the United States for bear hunting. Our property is made up of 15,000 acres of contiguous, private hunting land and is surrounded on three sides by 110,000 acres of the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge; making this a unique area for trophy black bear. NC Wildlife has said there are more bears per square mile on this property than anywhere in the country. To insure and maintain the consistency of great bear on our property, we are working with NC Wildlife who provides us with a maximum number of bear to be harvested each year. Therefore, the number of hunters we allow on the property are also limited.

Our bear hunts are baited stand-hunts only. A guide will take you to and from a safe and comfortable stand that is within 50 yards of a bait pile. Tracking, skinning and quartering of your bear is also provided by our guides and is included in your hunting package.
